Finance Hero
Finance Hero is a personal net-worth tracker — a digital balance sheet for people who outgrew their spreadsheet but do not want a bank-account aggregator.
You log what you own (assets) and what you owe (liabilities), organise it the way you actually think about money, and watch your net worth evolve over time.
What it is good for
- Tracking illiquid assets that no bank app knows about — real estate, private equity, jewellery, a classic car, a second passport fund in CHF.
- Managing a mix of tracking styles side-by-side: a snapshot balance for your checking account, unit-and-price for your stock portfolio, purchase-vs-current for your apartment.
- Seeing the full balance sheet in one place — assets minus liabilities, in your preferred currency, regardless of what currency each item was bought in.
- Keeping an audit trail of value changes over time, so you can look back at how your net worth moved quarter by quarter.
What it is not
- Not a PFM / budgeting tool. There is an income/expense transactions section, but the app does not scrape your bank feed, auto-categorise spending, or nag you about a grocery budget.
- Not a portfolio manager. No real-time stock prices, no rebalancing suggestions, no tax-lot optimisation. You enter prices yourself.
- Not a tax engine. Tax rate fields exist on assets and liabilities, but the app stores them — it does not project or file anything.
